Andrea Akelaitis is a litigation partner at Edwards, Kenny & Bray LLP and a member of the firm’s Environmental Practice Group.
Over the past ten years, Ms. Akelaitis has acted as co-counsel on a number of complex contaminated site and natural resource matters.She also provides regulatory compliance and permitting advice and has appeared on behalf of the successful party before the British Columbia Environmental Appeal Board in Worthington MacKenzie Inc. and Daniel Alexander White v. Director, Environmental Management Act and West Coast Reduction Ltd. v. District Director of the Greater Vancouver Regional District.
Ms. Akelaitis has appeared in all levels of the courts of British Columbia.In addition to her environmental focus, Ms. Akelaitis acts on commercial disputes and product liability issues.She frequently teams with counsel from other jurisdictions on complex matters.
Ms. Akelaitis has authored and presented “Provincial Environmental Law, Regulations and Policy” and “Groundwater, Regulation and Quality Control.”
