EKB Partners Co Chair and Speak at Mining Law and Finance Conference 2010
The Canadian Mining Law and Finance Conference 2010 was held in Toronto on May 13 and 14 and in Vancouver on May 17 and 18. Edwards, Kenny & Bray LLP partner David Allman co chaired the conference. Conference presenters at the Vancouver sessions included EKB partner Gary Letcher, who spoke on current environmental assessment issues in light of the recent Red Chris decision of the Supreme Court of Canada, in which Gary Letcher appeared on behalf of the Mining Association of British Columbia and the Association for Mineral Exploration British Columbia. EKB partner Geoff Sherrott spoke on equity financing for mining companies, in particular the proposed changes to National Instrument 43 101, Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects.
