  • Geoff Sherrott advises individuals and public and private companies on the full range of business issues they commonly (and uncommonly) encounter.

    Geoff regularly prepares agreements for the purchase and sale of land and businesses, license agreements, loan and security documents, property leases, employment agreements, shareholders agreements and banking documents. He advises purchasers, owners and tenants how best to address the environmental risks associated with owning an interest in land in British Columbia. He also advises TSX and TSX Venture Exchange companies on disclosure and compliance issues.

    Geoff has been at EKB since he articled there in 1993.

    • Counsel for purchasers or sellers of a variety of businesses, including, most recently, manufacturing, intellectual property, retail food products and medical supplies businesses
    • Corporate counsel for a number of complex tax-driven corporate reorganizations
    • Counsel on a number of long-term land use and environmental liability driven transactions
    • Securities law counsel for a Canadian mining company in a series of private placements to US institutional investors of debt instruments totaling US$730 million, and the issue to Canadian and US investors of US$468 million in common shares

    • Awarded Adam Albright Outstanding Adjunct Professor at UBC Law Award in 2014
