Allison Sharkey enjoys a hybrid practice as a member of EKB’s civil litigation group and EKB’s estate planning group. Allison has experience working with a broad array of clients, including small and family-owned businesses, pharmacies, commercial real estate enterprises, credit unions and clients involved in the natural resource sector.
As a civil litigator Allison prioritizes understanding her clients’ legal problems and goals, and focuses on crafting solutions that are tailored to her clients’ particular needs. Above all, she endeavours to solve legal problems early and economically.
Allison provides a broad range of services in her estate planning practice, including preparation of wills and trusts, and assisting executors with the administration of estates. Allison has experience providing estate planning services to a variety of clients, including business owners and their families.
Allison completed her BA and PhD in Anthropology before obtaining a JD from the University of British Columbia. While in law school, she volunteered with the Centre for Feminist Legal Studies. Allison also worked as a clinician with the UBC chapter of the Innocence Project. During her time in law school, she was awarded the Hilda Janzen Award in Feminist Legal Studies (2017). Allison joined EKB as an associate in 2020 after articling with the firm.
