Christa Alvernaz is a business lawyer at EKB, providing assistance with a broad range of corporate and commercial matters. As a member of the firm’s credit unions industry group, a significant component of her practice is focused on the regulatory and business needs of financial institutions.

Christa also acts for companies and partnerships in corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, financings, and restructuring and reorganization matters. She has worked with clients on complex cross-border acquisitions and financing arrangements, acquisitions of regulated businesses, and corporate governance matters.

Christa obtained her Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Victoria and practiced as a registered social worker before attending law school at the University of British Columbia.

Prior to joining EKB, Christa practiced at the Vancouver office of a national firm.
