In response to the request for comments published in March of this year, Canadian Securities Administrators received a significant number of comment letters from market participants regarding the proposed changes to Canadian early warning reporting requirements. A number of features of the proposed changes appear to be controversial or are of concern to a number of market participants. This article summarizes some of the comments and submissions, including concerns regarding certain features of the proposed amendments, which may be of interest to anyone following the proposals and awaiting the regulators’ next step.
